The Loves of My Life

I have more pictures of Blaine asleep than awake...but that is because he works so hard and falls asleep anytime he sits down for a minute. This year he surprised me with Valentine's WEEK...he gave me a present every day for the past week. It was so very sweet! Love you, Babe!

I love the light and sparkle in Bella's beautiful eyes. She is such a sweet girl and so much fun. She has got a great sense of style, don't you think? :) Even though the laundry situation drives me crazy, it is great to watch her use her imagination and play dress up. I love this age...she is so funny with the things she says and does. One of my favorite things that we do together is dance around the house to whatever music is on the radio. The girl has got some moves...

And my sweet, baby Ez...He's been cranky lately because he has a little cold and fever...cranky baby usually equates to cranky Mommy. But, this past month he has been so much fun...so smiley and such a flirt. He coos and goos and melts my heart every day. Yesterday he had a doctor's appt. and he weighed in at 9 pounds 7 ounces, which is actually pretty good for him. He has made serious improvement in eating, vomiting, and sleeping over the past month and he just lights up my world.

And, now a word on me...I have been Struggling (with a capital S) this past week or so with the whole weight loss thing. I have continued to exercise (although not as intensely) but the eating thing has just been a killer. Last night Blaine and I were watching the last hour of the Biggest Loser that I had recorded from the other night. I had watched the first hour in the morning while using the eliptical machine but when we sat down to unwind and finish the show off, I told Blaine that I really wanted a milk shake. "Can I do that? Can I eat a milk shake AND watch the Biggest Loser at the same time?" He said, "That's like reading the scriptures and smoking at the same time." Well, that made me laugh and boy did I enjoy that milk shake...

I guess I am feeling a little rebellious...it won't last forever and I'll be back on track shortly. Any suggestions on how you get back on when your weight loss efforts have been derailed?

Thanks for the really good laugh about watching BL and eating a milk shake. I guess if Blaine is right, I smoke and read scriptures all the time. I have no good advice. I am the worst. I was pretty proud of your progress though, or jealous one or the other. I guess I'd better go jump on the treadmill or the bike right now while I'm inspired. After this last DR Pepper. ha ha.

I love that Blaine has given you gifts every day that is so sweet! The pics of the kiddos are very cute and Im so glad to hear Ez has put on some more poundage! As for you and the poundage (hehehe) I think if you slip dont consider it a slip, if you deprive yourself from the things you love thats when you get into trouble and will put all that weight back on. I think in order to loose weight and keep it off you have to allow yourself days of indulgment but just watch the portions and dont let yourself feel guilty because then you will binge because you feel like youve messed up. Anyways I think you are doing great!! Happy V-Day!

Great advice from Kris. I second it. I look at what you have achieved already and you are doing fantastic. When the progress is sure and slow, the weight stays off longer, at least that's my humble opinion.

You have to give yourself "free" days to have a treat. Keep up the good work! You are doing AWESOME!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I've been sick all week and so I have lost 5 lbs. Although I know the minute that I start feeling better it is all going to come back on. I think that it is neat when our husbands surprise us and do something so wonderful. Kudos to Blaine!! Love those kids- you are so blessed!

Okay, so not that I'm an expert or the greatest role model in the weight loss department or anything... but here's my philosophy: I believe that the focus should be on living a healthy lifestyle, not on losing a certain number of pounds. And part of a healthy lifestyle means also doing things that are good for your SOUL - and a milkshake every now and then is definitely good for the soul! (And by the way, I have eaten cake AND ice cream while watching The Biggest Loser...so I think I've got you beat there!) You're doing awesome so NO GUILT - guilt is NOT good for the soul! :)

I love it, I was watching BL a coupld of weeks ago drinking some hot chocolate and eating popcorn and thinking it was some how wrong. My sister told me not to worry about it unless I somehow end up super overweight. As for the eating thing, plan a day a week for a good treat, if you don't you'll drive yourself mad! You have to let it go once in a while within reason.
