Back in the saddle

O.K. After a month of slacking, struggling, and sliding, I am happy to report that I am back in the saddle and I have renewed my commitment and effort at this weight loss thing. Thanks for all of your encouraging comments. I still have a vision of my goal and only 5 months left to achieve it so I am going to keep on keeping on. Blaine and Bella are great at eating whatever I put in front of them be it low carb, healthy carb, or no carb. They just roll with my dieting punches and are great sports about it. In fact, Bella loves to eat her vegetables and salad before anything else on her plate.
Any yummy meal or snack ideas that keep you on track with your healthy lifestyle?

Tirsa, I have a great breakfast recipe that can use food storage stuff, plus it's super healthy for you. I don't have the recipe right here. But it helps me because breakfast is a huge weakness for me. I love pancakes, waffles, bacon, eggs and all things fattening! You are doing AWESOME! Nine pounds rocks! I don't have any doubt you'll do it.

I have a black bean soup recipe that takes like 15 min. and is quite healthy.

I think french fries are healthy, and a large Dr. Pepper. But thats probably why I suck at this dieting stuff. But you are right, its time for me also to get going again. I've had like 2 months of no progress. I just talked to my Dad and he's running like 3 miles a day now and has lost 25-30 lbs so I can't let him show me up! Good job on the 9 lbs though.

Congrats! Slow and steady wins the race, or something like that. You're doing super.

We like the 100 calorie packs - of just about anything. Kudos bars, chips, crackers, etc. I'm not as crazy about the Hostess ones but they do when you're craving a treat. It's more expensive than buying a box of Teddie Grahams for example, but they are packaged, ready to go, and I can give the kids a pack or treat myself without worrying about eating the whole box. It's an easy way to help with portion control and still not deprive yourself of some of the yummier things to eat. We also love string cheese and fruit. The kids are spoiled and like their apples without the skin. I don't mind if it encourages them to eat more and I find less chewed up pieces of skin around the house!!
