I'm speaking of Mary Poppins, of course. The musical was as delightful as a spoon full of sugar. Bella and I went together on a Mommy/Daughter date. We had fun doing date-like things such as holding hands and eating snacks while we watched the play. I thought it was fabulous. Bella really liked it, too. My initial disappointment at realizing that we were literally on the LAST row of seats was quickly replaced by relief once I saw how wiggly and restless Bella got at times during the 3 hour show. At least I didn't have to worry about the people behind us! Bella and I had done our homework a few days earlier by watching the movie. That way we were all brushed up on the plot and the music. And the music was great. I found I had to hold myself back from belting out along with the cast popular songs such as Lets Go Fly a Kite, A Spoon Full of Sugar, and Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
Some of our favorite scenes were of Mary flying with her umbrella and Bert dancing on the ceiling upside down. My date was pretty impressed. I love that she is old enough to enjoy some girl time now with me. I look forward to more fun dates.
